Mercedes is the founder of Estudio Cunavi. Native from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mercedes started her career as interior designer at Somerville Corp in Miami Beach, a high-end residential development company. After several years as project manager and interior designer she decided to take her drive for design to the next level, commercial design. She moved to San Francisco for professional instruction getting her BFA in Interior Architecture and Design at The Academy of Art University. While at school she worked for the world-renowned hospitality firm HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates where she got her first insights in commercial and hospitality design.

Prior to found Estudio Cunavi, Mercedes worked as interior designer for Avroko Hospitality Group, a James Beard award-winning design and architectural firm.
